Just some pictures I took during my time in New Zealand. I just wanted to share some of my favorite ones with you split into three posts. HovHope you like them.
During our time in the Bay of Islands, we decided to do a Dolphin Tour with Great Sights. Seeing 17 different islands, including the "Hole in the Rock", as well as getting of in Paradise Bay and Russel for a small tour around. The whole day was great. We saw a lot of dolphins and even a shark, went swimming in Paradise Bay and had a delicious fish burger in the habour of Russel.
I would definitely recommend taking a tour in the Bay of Islands on a sunny morning. It is truly the best thing you can do there.
This week we decided to go up to Cape Reinga for sunrise. So we woke up around 4:30 am, got in the car and drove up north. And we were not disappointed. The road trip up north itself was already amazing, but the views from the lighthouse in Cape Reinga was even more beautiful.
Later we had lunch in a small burger café and then got raspberry nicecream near the 90 miles beach. So all in all it was the perfect day.
Paihia ➸ Mahinepua Bay
After our stay near the Haruru Falls we drove along the east cost of the Bay of Islands to Mahinepua Bay and found a beautiful, deserted white sanded beach with crystal clear water.
Once again pure perfection here in New Zealand. We could not believe it either.
Parakai ➸ Whangarei Falls
Our next stop were the Whangarei Falls in Whangarei, obviously.
It was pretty spectacular as those falls where our first in New Zealand.
After we took a couple of pictures and walked back to the top we headed to Paihia.
Whangarei Falls ➸ Paihia
In Paihia we stayed at a beautiful campsite called "Falls Motel and Waterfront Campground" with direct view on the Haruru Falls, which was also very nice. The campsite was very clean and located near the water. We truly enjoyed our time there as we were able to swim in the campsite's pool watching the sunset.
If you're wondering, the nice silver car is "ERL". He is our dearest companion on our trip here in New Zealand. Unfortunately we will have to sell him in Mid-April | May, as we then are working in Auckland for a longer period of time. However, we are very happy to have him now.
On our first morning, we had breakfast on the Haruru Falls, which was pretty nice and a great viewspot. ;-)
